SLJ – Its cool to be kind!

Today, I was looking through the SLJ and I saw this really cool activity! You could comment on someones blogpost! I love commenting and so I decided to give it a go. I did not have much time to do the comment, but it was so fun! I chose someone called Fox who was from my school. He did a blogpost about a cool obstacle course.

Here is my comment:

Have you done the SLJ yet?

  1. Kia ora Emiliee,

Go you! So cool that you are so keen to privide comments to others. There’s nothing quite like that warm feeling that you get when you realise someone has left a comment for you.
You are obviously well versed in what makes a good quality comment with the positive and thoughtful connection you made with Fox. I like how you were specific about liking Fox’s creative improvisation. I’m sure that comment will have painted a rainbow on his heart!
I find sometimes it can be hard to leave a helpful comment – not so much because I don’t want to be helpful, but more beacuse at times I can’t think of anything that might help them when they have done a super job! Do you find that too? I find remembering that asking them questions and trying to get a thread of a conversation going is also a great way of being helpful is something I utilise lots. So, if you too get to the end of your comment and have found it hard to offer some useful tips, try asking a question.
Enjoy the rest of the Summer Learning Journey. 🙂

    1. Hi Michelle!

Thank you for the helpful question! I think next time I make comments I will definitely add questions. I like how when you add a question to the comment it keeps the ball rolling.

I never really find it hard to comment on other blogs UNLESS it is a short post. Short posts are hard to comment on because there isn’t much structure to comment/acknowledge.

I am really enjoying the Summer Learning Journey.
Thanks so much for commenting! 🙂
