Feast Day Poster

Today in Room 9, we have been looking at Feast Day. At our school, we have a Feast Day for Mary Immaculate on December the 8th. Every second year, we go to Jellie Park to celebrate as a whole school after our mass. Today, our goal was to make a poster to advertise what we think should happen this year for feast day.

I worked with Nevaeh and Izzy to make our poster. We decided to stay with the Jellie Park idea to make it more simple. I really enjoyed this activity because it was really fun to spend some time with my friends and use our creativity to make a good poster. We also made this to recognize our Whakapapa. (which is our schools history) We have been going to Jellie Park for many years for our feast day.

Here is our poster; (made on Google Draw, images from Google)

What would you want to do for your school’s feast day?

Maths Diploma

For our last session of timestables.com, we had to finish our Big Diploma. To get the diploma, we had to finish 40 maths questions (x tables up to 12) in 8 minutes, not to mention we had to get every single one right. It was a really good challenge and helped me refresh and ensure my memory of the time tables.

I really enjoyed this because it helped me to realise my understanding about timestables and help my brain grow. Next time, I think I would do a diploma for division and exponents to help stay ontop of that concept.

Here is my diploma;

Have you ever done one of these? Do you think you would complete it? Why/Why not?

Lisa Carrington – Olympics

For reading this past term, our main focus has been the Olympics for reading and writing. Today as part of our Olympic work, we have been looking at Lisa Carrington and her success in her sport, Canoeing. For our activity, we had to research about her and make a DLO of her successes and facts about her. We are looking at her because she has represented New Zealand in the Olympics since 2012. She has just recently won a gold medal in her Canoeing final with 3 of her other teammates.

I really enjoyed this activity because it was really cool to see how New Zealand and our athletes are progressing at these Olympics. Here is my DLO about Lisa Carrington;

What athlete would you do this on and why?

Here is my reflection on this blogpost;

What is your favourite blogpost you have created?

Prayer Verse for R.E

This week our focus for R.E has been prayer verses. We were given a learn, create and share activity for a verse. We got a link to an online bible with many verses on one topic, praying. Once we had picked out our verse, we were asked a question. The question was ‘What is the verse telling you and how is it relevant today?’. Once we filled out our answer to the question, we could make a DLO of the verse.

This activity was really fun because it helped to teach me the meaning behind the verse and how important they are. The meanings behind each verse help you to get closer to God and understand the way of prayer.

Here is my DLO I created;

What verse would you pick? Have you heard of this verse before?
