Kia Ora everyone!
This blogpost is a ‘step it up’ activity from the other one I did, Mnemonics. The step it up activity taught us about how rainbows are made, which was really cool! I was so shocked and it was something new to me! I had always wondered how they were made. I made a cool Google Drawing to explain how they are made.
Did you know this? What is something new you learned?
Hi Emilee!
Wow, I learned a lot from your post here. Rainbows were always a mystery to me too. Science is so awesome at being able to explain the mysteries of the world to us!
Have you tried recreating this rainbow experiment at home? I wonder if it would work with a regular glass? Or maybe a hose spraying water on a sunny day?
Let me know if you decide to try it out!

Hi Theresa!
Sadly, I don’t have the materials to check if it works with glass, but I know that it works on a sunny day (with a hose!) because me and my friend put the sprinkler under the trampoline when we were having a play-date and saw a rainbow when you stood at a certain angle.
Have you ever done that?
Emilee 🥰
