Monster: Fantastic beasts

At NBC we are focusing on the July Home learning for the school. There is heaps of tasks to do and they all give points. For my task I chose to pick the fantastic beasts activity. First we had to look at some monsters in the book Fantastic beasts and then make our own. This is mine and I even added all the features.

WWF: Saving Fresh Water Seals

At NBC we are focusing on the July Home learning for the school. There is heaps of tasks to do and they all give points. My task I chose to pick the WWF activity. We had to watch videos about them saving the animals and what they do save them.

I chose to watch the one about them saving freshwater seals left. There are only 670 left in the world and they are very endangered. They build snow banks for them so that they can protect their babies when they are born. Its going pretty good and now they are trying to stop climate change.

Jesus walks on water! (by emilee, hunter and pixie!)

In Room 2 we have been focusing on Jesus miracles. We have had weeks to do this and it was such a fun journey. Here is our video. Overall it was such a fun activity, especially with my friends! If you have questions about it please let us know so we can improve next time!

Have you ever done something like this?

My Report – Frogs

In Room 10 we have been focusing on our reports since we finished with our Narratives. I enjoyed reports much more than Narratives. I really liked this because it was fun looking at facts about frogs. Here is mine

~ frog report! ~

Frogs are small unique creatures that people often misjudge. They are very fascinating when you get to know them and they have lots of interesting features such as using their eyes to help swallow their food. Crazy right? This report will tell you facts about frogs, including where they live, what they eat and much more.

Frogs are amphibians, which means their habitat would most likely be lakes and swamps, but amphibians can also live on land. They lay their eggs in the water as well. Although frogs live on land their habitat must be near swamps, ponds or in a damp place. This is because they will die if their skin dries out.

Frogs only eat living insects because any other food may cause them to be unwell. The best food to feed them would be crickets. They absolutely love them and it is totally safe for them to eat. Frogs have a very different palette than other animals, so if you want to have them as a pet you would have to know what they eat.

Some frogs are actually poisonous, which may be a surprise to some people. If you would want to know what frogs are poisonous and which are not you can look for these signs.

Bright Coloured/ red, yellow ect.

Spiny ribs that protrude from their skin

They make a sort of “hissing” sound when predators are near them.

Overall, I think frogs are small creatures that I absolutely love and I wonder why they aren’t other people’s favourite animals!

Diamante Poem – Writing

WALT: Understand diamante poems.

In Room 10 we have been doing diamante poems for our writing. My one was all about cheetahs, since it was the first thing to cross my mind.

A diamante poem goes like this:

  • 1 noun
  • 2 adjectives
  • verbs
  • A 4 letter sentence about the topic
  • 3 verbs
  • 2 adjectives
  • noun

Here is my diamante poem:

Geometry Quiz – Maths – Sides and Vertices

Walt: Understand vertices and sides.

In Room 10 we had to do a quick blogpost about maths so we could do a Kahoot. I was going to show a video of me doing a quiz, but it wont upload. Instead, here are photos of me getting the right/wrong and you will have to see if I get them right!

As you can see, I got them all correct!

Would you have got them correct?

KWL About Space

In Room 10/WORM class we have been learning about space for our reading. To start off our slides we had to make a KWL about our knowledge about space. I thought this was a very fun activity to recap about all the information I knew.
